About the Company
For over thirty years, Gene and Diane Knoefler have been designing and building high-quality homes and neighborhoods in the Wabash Valley. In 1987, they started G&D Construction and have built more then 90 custom homes throughout Vigo, Clay and Vermillion counties.
This talented, creative and innovative husband and wife team started Knoefler Development with the successful Harrison Woods community in 1993. Utilizing their combined wealth of experience and knowledge, they developed the Allendale Woods community in 1995 as a high profile extension of the existing Allendale community. In 2002, they developed Hawthorn Woods, one of Terre Haute's newest and most beautiful communities.
About the Principals
Gene Knoefler earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to going into construction and development full-time, he held various engineering and management positions for 28 years.
Diane Knoefler is a licensed real estate agent. She specializes in decorating the interior and exterior of homes. Diane is a member of the Terre Haute Women's Club and Shoe Bus.
Joshua Knoefler, their son, served as the project manager of the Hawthorn Woods Phase I and II development. He also served as the project engineer and construction supervisor on the Allendale Woods community. A graduate of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Joshua earned a degree in Civil Engineering and is a certified Professional Engineer in Indiana and California. He has supervised the engineering and construction of power plants in the United States, Europe and South America.
